A first major milestone was achieved for the Lindvart Park Reserve Management Plan where lights were finally installed on the Central Grounds at Lindvart Park.

This was a great achievement from and for the community achieved by collaboration and partnership between Kaikohe District Sporstville, Northern Regional Council and local sports club, Kaikohe Rugby Football & Sports Club.

Since the lights have been installed, weekly games have been held on the grounds and have included the Harding Shield game between Mangonui vs. BOI Senior Rugby team, North Zone Competitions and see several junior competition games.  

Overall, this has been a great investment for the area which has allowed for multiple codes to use the grounds, teams being able to train at different times as well as opening up new times and opportunities for sports allowing more people to participate and play because of the different times at night in the winter.

The next big game to be hosted is the Northland vs. Counties pre-season game coming up on Friday 26 July at 5.30pm.
