TOP OF THE ROCK 2024
Exciting news! Kaiwaka Sports Association’s annual multi-sport event, the Top of the Rock, is back – it will be held on Sunday 17th March 2024 St Patrick’s Day.
There are two running/walking routes: a 5km and a 10km. The 5km route goes around the two lakes near Baldrock Rd. The 10km route goes around those two lakes then traverses private land not usually open to the public, reaching a lofty spot on the hills at the base of the Brynderwyns with fantastic views to the ocean to the east and through to the Kaipara Harbour to the west.
There will be a Kids Fun Bike Ride for children under 11 years, which is free to enter. It’s a short, flat course (going around the sports complex grounds, school grounds and a neighbour’s farm), and takes around 10 minutes, so it’s perfect for the young ones. Children will need a bike, helmet and shoes.
Prizegiving and entertainment will be held at the Sports Complex afterwards, with prizes for place-getters and lots of great spot prizes.
