If your body feels like it's in need of repair, tired, stiff, and worn in places then Hydrotherapy may be the answer you didn’t know about.
Hydrotherapy works, and there’s a combination of factors as to why. The hydrostatic pressure of water provides both resistance for progressive challenges requiring the muscles to get stronger while at the same time provides support to the joints and body movements making movements easier, more expansive and without impact. The temperature of the water in the Hydrotherapy pool is at a specific temperature, the result of which is warming the body, improving muscle actions and blood flow, and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system to recover and heal the body’s tissues.
The Movement Rehab class is one of many classes running each week at the Whangarei Aquatic Centre Hydrotherapy pool. Class Instructor Samantha Jones makes the most of her time with her participants guiding them through a series of exercises designed to gently challenge them to improved strength, mobility, and less pain. Instructor Sam gives her participants extra care and attention, working with them on their health goals to get the most out of their exercise.
Here’s what some of her participants have to say about their class;
“I think the class is absolutely fantastic. I’m not a natural exercise doer but I come to this. Good workout, very relaxing, great instructor, good price” – Christine
“I can get up off the floor now, I haven’t been able to for months and months” – Rewa
“My bloods have been the best they’ve been for six months” – Becky
“I look forward to Sam’s class every week” – Rianne
“After procrastinating for a couple of years I’m here and I love it” – Annease
“I’ve had an improvement of balance and coordination, so it’s great” – Jane
