As adults, many of us in our younger years paid no thought to our stability, our strength to do every-day tasks, and our ability to live an independent life. Getting older (and wiser I might add) is a natural process, and something often we associate with losing some of our younger body’s strength, coordination, and balance. This doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. Strength and Balance programmes have shown to not only halt a decline in strength and balance but to also make improvements to our current strength and mobility.
Tai Chi as an activity is highly regarded as a great exercise programme for seniors. With flowing low impact movements, and a total body approach. Tai Chi does as much for the mind and coordination as it does for the body and fosters a stronger body-mind connection.
Each and every week participants come down to Cheng Ming Tai Chi in Central Whangarei and move their bodies to greater health under the careful watch of their highly experienced Instructor Tim. Beginners can expect expert guidance and a gentle approach to learning new exercises. Tim provides simple instructions to correcting the form, the posture of the body and how to move in ways that increase a person’s coordination and balance.
Covid of the last couple of years has presented a number of challenges, and classes are still impacted with the loss of participants. In other words, if you’re reading this, there’s a space for you, and instructors like Tim would love to take your call and introduce you to a world of improved health and independence through Tai Chi.
A number of classes are running in the mornings throughout the week, contact Tim (ph 021 0520 166) to enquire about making a start today. Cheng Ming Tai Chi 112 Cameron Street is situated above Arnold Franks.
