“Visitors to Portland School are now greeted, once entering through the main school gate, with a very impressive new basketball court. 

This court is part of a wider vision that Principal Shane Nicholas and the Board of Trustees have, to provide quality spaces for physical activity, not only for the school tamariki and their whānau, but for the wider Portland community. In short, the vision is for the school to become the hub of the community, keeping youth and whānau active, engaged and out of trouble. 

Over time more active spaces are planned at the school, ensuring the Portland community have even greater opportunities to keep moving and enhance their wellbeing.”  Check out the video here
