Maramataka with Ngataki School

Tuia ki te rangi,

Tuia ki te whenua,

Tuia ki te moana,

Tuia ki te Herenga tangata

Ka rongo te po

Ka rongo te ao

This whakatauki embodies kōrero that represents a haerenga Ngataki School have embarked on. They have been leading their own research journey in the hopes of creating a localised Maramataka. This has included research around the history of Māori practices dating pre-European colonisation and how they can be applied in the modern society we live in today. This kaupapa has provided the opportunity for students to connect more with their natural environment and raised self-awareness around how they are feeling in the different moon phases. What a great way to become familiar with how the environment can have such an impact on us as Tangata.

Great kaupapa for students to engage in, well done Ngataki School (view here)
