At Pamapuria School the year 7 and 8 class have been working on improving their communication skills and managing themselves. Their teacher, Shelley, identified that interaction in a positive way with one another was quite uncommon and in fact some children seemed to not know how to interact positively. Together as a unit, they have worked towards creating healthy positive environments, ensuring that they work well as a team and providing them opportunities to create their own boundaries.
They have been participating in some awesome and very basic activities including some team work and colour runs with Deanna their Energizer where the class worked in groups to run a coarse and decipher a colour code, they wrote their own behaviour contracts for school camp and have completed the toothpaste exercise as a class by squeezing out a tube of toothpaste then working together with various tools like spoons, knives and fingers to see how much they could put back in. The correlation here being, that it’s easy to squeeze words out - but how hard is it to get them back in?
