The Kaitaia East community celebrated the opening of the long-awaited new playground at Parkdale Park with activities, music and a community BBQ. Check out the action on this short video here

We were on hand as well to capture kōrero from the residents to find out what else they wanted in their neighbourhood.  Attendees described their aspirations with popping their feedback on bit of paper, screwing it up and shooting them into a basketball hoop (that was given away at the end of the day to one lucky contributor). 

This information was later collated and will be used as the basis of a neighbourhood plan with interested locals coming together with in a series of hui.
